Hello not so dead week

So I saw the movie You've Got Mail the other day and it inspired me in the way that I will start my blog.

I'd like to start my notes to you as if we are already in the middle of a conversation. I pretend we are the oldest and dearest friends opposed to what we actually are - complete strangers.

Yes, it is indeed "dead week"...at least that's what they like to call it here. It really is hell week...where teachers pile on the last minutes projects....give us our 3rd midterms (which really makes no sense that we have more than one MID TERM a quarter because they are supposed to occur once in the middle of the TERM, but this is just another absurdity to add on to the list of things about college that don't make sense) and some classes even give us FINALS...yes that's right FINALS in the week before the actual week called FINALS WEEK. We all manage to surprise ourselves every quarter when we come through the "dead week" and finals week unscathed -> maybe with less than ideal grades of course, but we make it non the less.

Everybody seems to handle this week differently. Myself has been studying a little each day during dead week trying to keep up with all 3 of my classes. My roommates on the other hand have a different approach.
-One has decided to get plastered drunk every night this week "hey ill just study next week"
-Another has chosen the righteous path of sleeping over with a different boyfriend every night "O MY GOD boys are just blowing up my phone ALL the time"
-and the last one studiously smokes weed while studying for all subjects "dude it helps me"

whatever gets you through the "hell week" more power to ya

Strangely the weekend before finals is the BIGGEST party weekend of the quarter so hopefully if I can get enough studying done I see a handcuff party on the horizon, a "B" themed party, a 21st birthday party, and a "safety meeting"

thank god its thursday night already
